Small Animal Associate Veterinarian
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, with the ability to diagnose and treat a variety of animal health issues. This role requires excellent communication skills to educate pet owners on proper care and treatment options, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Pinecrest Animal Hospital is located in Owosso, MI, conveniently located approximately 45 minutes of Lansing and Saginaw. Owosso is a historic small-town community that offers great schools, local shopping, unique restaurants, and nature trails. Pinecrest Animal Hospital offers a modern clean facility with advanced technology (digital x-ray, dedicated surgical suite, dedicated dental suite, and full in-house laboratory) and a compassionate driven team that provides excellent high quality patient care.
Duties
● Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose any medical conditions.
● Administer vaccinations and medications as needed.
● Perform surgical procedures, including animal catheterization, spaying, and neutering.
● Provide emergency care for injured or ill animals.
● Maintain accurate medical records for each patient, documenting treatments and progress.
● Educate pet owners on animal husbandry, care practices, and preventive health measures.
● Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
● Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Skills
● Proficient in veterinary terminology and animal handling techniques.
● Strong knowledge of animal care practices, including grooming and restraint methods.
● Experience with equine medicine is a plus but not required.
● Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and team members.
● Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a clinical setting.
● A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential.

Licensed Veterinary Technician
Pinecrest Animal Hospital in Owosso is seeking a skilled full-time licensed veterinary technician to join our growing small animal practice. We are a fast-paced and progressive 3 doctor practice providing a wide variety of services from routine vaccines and health exams to performing advanced surgical and dental procedures with state-of-the-art digital radiology and a full in-house laboratory in a modern, clean, and organized facility. Applicant must be able to effectively communicate with clients and other team members in a professional manner and will be responsible for client education including discussing medical treatments and at-home care. Responsibilities and Duties
● Triage, admit, and treat patients under doctor’s supervision
● Assist with surgical procedures and processing instruments
● Monitor and provide treatments to current in-patients
● Calculate drug doses and fill medications
● Communicate discharge instructions effectively and accurately to clients
● The technician may occasionally be responsible for receptionist duties when the receptionist is unavailable. These duties include answering phones, scheduling appointments, admitting patients, and settling bills
● Implement isolation protocols
● Perform digital x-rays
● Collect samples (blood, urine) and run in-house laboratory tests
● Maintain a clean hospital environment
● Maintain a happy, collaborative and positive attitude under stressful situations
● Perform triage and take history in an efficient manner
● Ability to learn new veterinary software and accurately update medical records
● Ability to restrain dogs and cats safely and efficiently
● Competency with inducing and managing patients under anesthesia
● Capable of lifting large dogs
● Ability to follow instruction
● Along with various other tasks as directed

-Maintaining hospital cleanliness inside and outside the facility, keeping supplies stocked and ready for use
-Assist the doctor and technicians as needed with patient restraint
-Assist with cleaning and processing surgical instruments
-Maintain a clean and sterile hospital environment
-Maintain a happy, collaborative and positive attitude under stressful situations
-Ability to learn new veterinary software and accurately update medical records as needed
-Ability to restrain dogs and cats safely and securely
-Capable of lifting large dogs (with assistance)
-Ability to follow instruction

Pinecrest Animal Hospital is seeking a skilled Veterinary Receptionist to join our expanding practice.
The Veterinary Receptionist’s primary duty is interacting with clients and coordinating communication between doctors, technicians, assistants and the clients.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
● Provide top-notch customer service.
● Being attentive to client and pet needs.
● Identify and work compassionately with clients in various emotional states.
● Work patiently with distressed, frustrated or disgruntled clients.
● Answer and triage phone calls from clients on a high-volume basis.
● Schedule appointments and schedule procedures.
● Check-in clients.
● Monitor client flow from check-in to discharge.
● Monitor schedule and flow.
● Client callbacks.
● Appointment confirmations
● Managing record requests between other hospitals and specialty practice
● Assist in cleaning the hospital including but not limited to: keeping the reception desk area and lobby clean and sanitary, taking out the trash and recycling, laundry, cleaning floors, bathrooms, exam rooms, kitchen and kennels if needed.
● Process payment transactions.
● Maintain proper documentation in the electronic medical record.
● Relay appropriate information to/from clients to doctors, technicians, and/or management.
● Computer skills: Able to use Windows-based computer systems, word processing, email, web search and other skills needed to effectively use the practice management software program.
● Other tasks as assigned and directed by the Doctor or Hospital Manager to help facilitate flow and organization of the clinic and patient care.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or G.E.D, college preferred
At least 1 year of customer service job-related experience.
Must be able to safely lift 30 pounds.
Basic math and writing skills.
Veterinary Clinic experience a bonus!
Other:
Receptionists must possess good critical thinking and problem-solving skills, compassion, a positive attitude, follow-through and excellent communication and teamwork skills. Multitasking and accepting constructive criticism are essential. Punctuality is expected. This job description does not necessarily cover every task or duty that might be assigned. There may be additional responsibilities assigned as necessary.
